Award of Merit

Based on a point system, the Operations Section Award of Merit gives public recognition to those whose service to the gas industry, through participation in the activities of the section, has been outstanding.

This includes; outstanding leadership, participation in AGA events and continuous and dedicated organizational service.

There are five levels of awards and a Lifetime Achievement category for an individual who has accumulated points of 150 or more:

  1. Award of Merit (Bronze) — 25 points
  2. Award of Merit (Silver) — 50 points
  3. Award of Merit (Gold) — 75 points
  4. Award of Merit (Platinum) — 100 points
  5. Award of Merit (Diamond) — 125 points

SAVE Awards

The Safety Awareness Video Excellence (SAVE) awards recognize outstanding contributions to natural gas communications safety and education, featuring two award categories:

To be considered, videos must be produced no earlier than May 2024 and should be shorter than 4 minutes.

Submissions close on January 15, 2025.

Qualifying videos will be voted on in public polls and reviewed by a judges panel. Winners will be selected and given an award at the 2025 AGA Operations Conference & Biennial Exhibition, May 5 – 8 in Aurora, CO.


Distinguished Service Award:

AGA presents its Distinguished Service Award, AGA’s highest award, to the individual or individuals (primarily at the C-Suite level) who have made an outstanding and significant contribution to the natural gas distribution industry.

Natural Gas Industry Leadership Award:

The Natural Gas Industry Leadership Award is given to the individual or individuals (non-CEO, executive/director/manager level) who have made a notable commitment and achievement of success in the natural gas industry and has been a leader among their peers in the pursuit of operational excellence and success for their company and the overall natural gas industry.
