Suzanne Sitherwood of Spire Inc. Elected Chair of AGA Board of Directors
Washington, D.C. – The American Gas Association (AGA) Board of Directors has elected Suzanne Sitherwood, President and CEO of Spire Inc. in St. Louis, MO to be Chair of the Board for 2023.

Through a pandemic at home and energy market disruption abroad, our industry continues to deliver essential energy to millions of Americans while reducing emissions and putting our nation on a path to a cleaner future,” said Sitherwood. “AGA and our industry will continue to lead our nation as we work to achieve our energy and environmental goals while innovating for the future. I look forward to leading this organization through these exciting times.”
Spire safely and reliably delivers affordable natural gas to more than 1.7 million customers in Missouri, Alabama and Mississippi. Under Sitherwood’s leadership, the company has quadrupled its market value and increased its enterprise value more than six-fold. It is now the fifth largest publicly traded natural gas company in the U.S.,
Sitherwood has chaired numerous civic groups and philanthropic efforts in the St. Louis region and currently serves as a member of the Chair’s Council of Greater St. Louis, Inc., chair of the AllianceSTL Advisory Board and is a former chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis board. She has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering technology from the Southern College of Technology in Marietta, Georgia (now Southern Polytechnic State University) and a Master of Business Administration from Brenau University.

AGA’s other board officers for 2023 will include: First Vice Chair Jerry Norcia, President and CEO, DTE Energy based in Detroit, MI and Second Vice Chair Scott Doyle, Executive Vice President of Utility Operations, CenterPoint Energy based in Houston, TX. Kimberly S. Greene, Chairman, President and CEO, Southern Company Gas based in Atlanta, GA will become Immediate Past Chair on January 1, 2023 at the beginning of Sitherwood’s term.
