AGA Joins Coalition Comments on Proposal to Restrict Regulated Industry Input Regulations
On June 6, AGA joined a multi-trade association comment letter expressing concern about the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) proposed guidance that would restrict or deny access for regulated industry representatives to obtain meetings with OMB to provide their input regarding how a proposed rule would affect their industry. Instead, OMB will prioritize outreach to members of the public who have not typically been engaged “historically” in OMB regulatory reviews. The comments note that this would violate Constitutional First Amendment protections by favoring speech by some citizens over those of others based on their viewpoints.
