AGA joins cross-industry petition for reconsideration of Final Rule on IBR Technical Standards (Standards I)

AGA joined industry associations on a petition to PHMSA to reconsider the Final Rule on technical standards incorporated by reference (Standards I).

The petition requests PHMSA to:
1) Incorporate the 2018 edition of ASME B31.8S for §§ 192.714(d)(1), 192.933(d)(1), and 192.933(d)(2)(iv).
2) Set an effective date of January 1, 2025 for the final rule. PHMSA has previously promulgated a 6/28/2024 effective date for the Standards I rule.

A letter requesting a stay of enforcement on this final rule was also submitted in order to provide time necessary for PHMSA to consider and respond to the petition.
